OUR COMMITTEES MAKE THE DIFFERENCE

Committees are the backbone of a REALTOR® association, driving advocacy, education, and member engagement. They provide a platform for REALTORS® to shape industry policies, enhance professional development, and strengthen the real estate community. By serving on a committee, members gain valuable leadership experience, expand their networks, and make a lasting impact on their association and the industry as a whole.

#REALTORSGIVEBACK

Enhances the Realtor relationship with the public. Giving back to the communities where we live and work is essential. The committee will host two major fundraisers, as well as a food drive and a clothing drive. We will also explore developing a Realtor Volunteer Corps to get Realtors involved with other community organizations as an opportunity to give back and to network with new people. This year’s fundraisers:

  • Bingo Night to benefit Unlimited Potential – supporting young adults as they leave the foster system
  • Trivia Night to Support Hope’s Locker – Back to School shoes for local kids
  • Food Drive to benefit the Brazos Valley Food Bank during the holidays
  • Clothing Drive to benefit Hope’s Locker and Chrissy’s Closet – local school closets


GOVERNMENTAL AFFAIRS

Knowing about, reporting on and taking a position on issues affecting our industry and private property rights is critical to our professional success and it’s a critical part of our service to the public. The committee works to inform the membership on upcoming issues; works with Realtors who have elected or appointed positions; notifies the public about critical property rights issues and interviews and makes endorsement recommendations for local and regional elections. This committee usually meets on the first Thursday of each month at 10 a.m.

PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT

Participates in the planning and implementation of orientation, educational seminars, workshops, designations, and CE courses.

TREPAC

Educate the membership of the purpose, effectiveness, structure, and successful record of TREPAC – Texas Realtors Political Action Committee. Conduct fun fundraisers to contribute to TREPAC to support the campaigns of candidates who have shown their concern for responsible government, the preservation of private property rights and the interests of the real estate industry. This committee is active throughout the year.
